Liz Cheney launches new attack ad on Trump in New Hampshire: “A risk America can never take again”

Cheney slams McConnell for meeting with Trump: "History will remember"

Former Republican congresswoman Liz Cheney (Wyo.) is attacking Donald Trump in the early primary state of New Hampshire ahead of the former president’s CNN town hall in the state.

In the ad titled ‘Risk’ Cheney warned voters against re-electing Trump to a second term in the White House.

“Donald Trump is the only president in American history who has refused to guarantee the peaceful transfer of power. He lost the election and he knew it. He betrayed millions of Americans by telling them the election was stolen. He ignored the rulings of dozens of courts,” Cheney said. “Rather than accept his defeat, he mobilized a mob to come to Washington and march on the Capitol. Then, he watched on television while the mob attacked law enforcement, invaded the Capitol and hunted the vice president.”

“Donald Trump has proven he is unfit for office. Donald Trump is a risk America can never take again,” Cheney said.

The ad was funded by Great Task PAC, Cheney’s political organization, and will air in New Hampshire around the same time as Trump’s scheduled town hall with CNN, according to NBC News.

Cheney was the number 3 Republican in the House before she was removed from Republican leadership for criticizing Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election and his actions on Jan. 6.

She later joined the House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Cheney was defeated in the Republican primary in Wyoming by Trump-backed candidate Harriet Hageman who held on to the seat in the general election.
