Liz Cheney trolls Kari Lake for losing Arizona governor's race: "You're welcome"

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) trolled far-right conspiracy theorist Kari Lake after she lost the race for governor of Arizona to Democrat Katie Hobbs.

Last month, Lake, an election denier, mockingly thanked Cheney for the “anti-endorsement” after the anti-Trump congresswoman urged Arizonans to vote for Hobbs.

According to Lake, donations to her campaign skyrocketed and her website “nearly crashed from traffic” after Cheney’s comments and attacks on her.

“Thank you again for the huge boost to our campaign! Enjoy your forced retirement from politics,” Lake said in a letter at the time. “I know America will rest easier knowing that one more warmonger is out of office.”

On Monday, Cheney posted a succinct response to Lake’s last month letter: “You’re welcome.”

Cheney urged Arizonans not to vote for Lake during an event at Arizona State University last month, because she refused to accept the results of the 2020 election. Cheney’s PAC also ran ads in Arizona targeting Lake and Mark Finchem, an election denier who ran for secretary of state, according to NBC News. Finchem also lost his election.

Several other Republicans also joined Cheney to dunk on Lake, who has attacked Republicans, including late Sen. John McCain during her campaign.
