Lou Dobbs says Republicans lost the election because they forgot Trump was the "true leader".

Instead of recognizing Donald Trump as the true electoral disaster that he is, Fox News host Lou Dobbs is blaming the outcome of the 2020 election on Republicans, claiming that they forgot that Trump was their true leader.

Dobbs said the idea of Trump forming a third party called ‘The Patriot Party’ is just motivation to keep “the Republican RINO leadership” in line.

He then took shots at top Senate Republicans, like Minority Leader Mitch McConnell who he claims was “working very hard to undercut” Trump.

“These people have become petty and vindictive and really are not honoring the guy that is the only good thing to happen to the Republican Party in the last four cycles,”Dobbs said. “Think about it. They lost in 2008. They lost in 2012. They would have lost in 2016. And they did lose this year because the Republican Party forgot who was the true leader.”

Of note, Republicans won large majorities in Congress without Trump in 2010 and 2014, only to lose the House in the 2018 blue wave and the Senate and the White House in 2020, while Trump was president.

And even though Republicans do not control any chamber in Congress or the White House, they were still able to pick up some seats in 2020, while Trump lost the White House.
