Louie Gohmert, the Republican congressman from Texas who refused to wear a mask has tested positive for coronavirus.
Gohmert, who attended Tuesday’s Judiciary Committee hearing with Attorney General William Barr tested positive for the virus in a pre-screen on Wednesday at the White House moments before he was expected to travel with Donald Trump to Texas, according to Politico.
The 66-year-old congressman has refused to wear a mask, telling CNN last month, “I don’t have the coronavirus, turns out as of yesterday I’ve never had it. But if I get it, you’ll never see me without a mask.”
When he was told that asymptomatic individuals can still spread the disease, Gohmert said: “I keep being tested and I don’t have it. So I’m not afraid of you, but if I get it I’ll wear a mask.”
