MAGA lawmaker melts down over Cracker Barrel logo change: ‘I gave my life to Christ in their parking lot’

MAGA lawmaker says Republicans killed bipartisan border bill based on what they saw on social media.

Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) is bringing Jesus Christ into his beef with Cracker Barrel over the restaurant chain and country store’s logo change.

“In college, I worked at @CrackerBarrel in Tallahassee. I even gave my life to Christ in their parking lot,” wrote Donalds in a social media post. “Their logo was iconic and their unique restaurants were a fixture of American culture. No one asked for this woke rebrand. It’s time to Make Cracker Barrel Great Again.”

In a recent interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network, Donalds recalled finding Jesus in a Cracker Barrel parking lot while working there at the age of 21 and serving a large group of churchgoers.

“The Lord spoke to me. It was like, ‘Stop running from Me.’ And so, it just knocked me back. So I went out to find the table, and they were all gone, and I could see through the windows that they were getting on their bus,” he said.

“So I walked out. My manager’s like, ‘Where are you going?’ I need a second. I walk out there. The last lady’s getting on the bus, and she goes, ‘Yo, man, you okay?’ And I go, ‘No, ma’am, I’m not okay.?’ She goes, ‘what?’ And I go, ‘The Lord is telling me to stop running.’ I still get emotional about it,” he continued. “And so there was a little tree that was right there next to where their van was pulled up, and they all came pouring out the bus. I mean, they just came from a revival. So they’re like, ‘Oh, praise the Lord, we got another one!’ So they pour out of the bus, and they all pray over me, and I gave my life to Christ in the parking lot of a Cracker Barrel.”

Cracker Barrel unveiled a new simplified logo on Aug. 19, without the man seated next to a wooden barrel.

The rebrand is facing some online pushback especially from Conservatives who believe that it is another attempt by corporate America to erase traditional American values and accused the company of going “woke.”
