Supporters of former President Donald Trump are insisting that he won over Libertarians during his speech at the party’s convention on Saturday where delegates booed, jeered and shouted insults at him throughout his speech.
At the Libertarian National Convention at the Washington Hotel, delegates booed the former president and his clumsy attempt at trying to win them over. The revolt against him seem to have affected Trump, who is use to speaking before an adoring crowd of supporters, and at one point he lashed out at the crowd, telling them “keep getting your three percent every four years.”
But, according to Trump sycophants, the former president did a great job and won over the crowd.
Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) who was literally booed off stage said Trump “knocked it out of the park.”
“This was amazing. No other president in history, to my knowledge, has ever showed up at another political party’s convention, openly asked for their endorsement, and just really hit the ground running,” Lee said in a video posted to X. “Well done, President Trump. I think you won the hearts and minds of a whole lot of Libertarians out there and a whole lot of other Americans.”
Former Trump administration official Monica Crowley claims Trump had Libertarians “going wild for him” and he’s “expanding his base.”
“One night President Trump has the Bronx cheering for him,” Crowley wrote “The next night he has the Libertarians going wild for him. He’s expanding MAGA in unbelievable ways. Absolute legend.”
“Trump went from being booed after every word of his speech at the Libertarian National Convention to having the attendees eating out of his hand and cheering for him,” failed congressional candidate Laura Loomer wrote. “He’s the best communicator in the entire world. Truly a masterclass. I hope everyone is taking notes right now.”
Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy criticized the Biden presidential campaign for sharing a video of the crowd relentlessly booing Trump.
“Shame on Biden. Real men face people who disagree with them, instead of hiding in their bunkers,” Ramaswamy wrote
