Donald Trump’s Palm Beach club has been partially closed due to a COVID outbreak, several people familiar with the situation told the Associated Press.
Sources spoke to AP on condition of anonymity since they were not authorized to discuss the situation by name.
A receptionist at the club confirmed that it was closed until further notice. Another individual familiar with the club’s operations said that, out of an abundance of caution, they had “partially closed” a “section of the club” for a short period of time and quarantined some of its workers.
Similarly, the Trump White House became a COVID hotspot during the height of the pandemic because his administration flouts masking and social distancing guidelines.
Trump has been laying low at Mar-a-Lago, playing golf and meeting with Republican leaders, since he left the White House in January.
He was hospitalized with the virus in October of last year and has been vaccinated.
