Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is demanding that Democrats go after the people on Jeffrey Epstein’s list instead of Donald Trump, ignoring the fact that Trump is also on the disgraced sex trafficking financier list.
As the jury in Trump’s criminal case in New York deliberates for a second day, Greene took to social media to blame Democrats for prosecuting Trump instead of directing their resources elsewhere.
“The same demented democrats that are abusing our justice systems to try to make Pres Trump a “felon” refuse to prosecute Epstein’s client list,” Greene wrote. “Just think about that.”
But, Trump’s name appears in documents linked to Epstein that were made public following the death of the accused sex trafficker in 2019.
One of Epstein’s victims testified that she met Trump at Mar-a-Lago in the 1990s when she was 14-years-old.
Trump’s name also appears in documents that were unsealed earlier this year in which Epstein is quoted as saying he would invite Trump to join him at one of his casinos for a few hours because his flight was delayed in Atlantic City, New Jersey because of a storm in New York.
In another document, an underage girl said she was never asked to engage in sexual relations with Trump.
Though Trump was named in the documents he is not accused of any wrongdoing related to Epstein.
