Marjorie Taylor Greene revives call for a ‘national divorce’

MTG calls for Georgia GOP vice chair to resign.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is once again calling for the United States to split up following the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk last week.

In a post on X, Greene argued that a “national divorce” is necessary because the political right and left have “nothing left to talk about.”

“There is nothing left to talk about with the left. They hate us,” Greene wrote. “They assassinated our nice guy who actually talked to them peacefully debating ideas. Then millions on the left celebrated and made clear they want all of us dead. To be honest, I want a peaceful national divorce. Our country is too far gone and too far divided, and it’s no longer safe for any of us.”

Greene argued that the “spiritual revival” taking place after Kirk’s death will not be reflected in the government and slammed her party for not doing enough.

“If you are expecting Republicans to fight against evil, with the power they currently possess, and end this once and for all, you are going to be extremely disappointed,” she wrote. “This week Congress will be voting on another CR – Biden’s budget that FUNDS TRANSGENDER POLICIES, NOT our own Trump policy budget that funds what you voted for.”

“We had 9 months to get it done, but for reasons I don’t understand or agree with, it wasn’t the priority. Government is not answer, God is,” she continued, adding “I will pray for the left, but personally I want nothing to do with them.”

Greene previously called for a national divorce in 2023.

“We need a national divorce,” Greene wrote on Twitter at the time. “We need to separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government. Everyone I talk to says this. From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies, we are done.”
