Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga) attacked Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for not having kids and previously working in a bar, claiming that means the New York Democrat lacks life experiences.
Greene made the comment during Tuesday’s edition of The Eric Bolling Show on Rumble during a discussion about Ocasio-Cortez potentially running for president in 2028.
“This is a woman – she’s never been married, she has no children, she’s never had a job other than working in a bar, and that was short-term from what we understand,” Greene said. “She’s never run a business. This is a woman that has really no life experience and has no life wisdom because she’s never done any of those things.”
Greene argued this is why voters will not take Ocasio-Cortez as a serious presidential contender.
“We don’t want someone that’s propped up by the Democrat progressive establishment and who’s basically an actress herself making the most important decisions in America on behalf of Americans, who most of them have had jobs, have jobs, ran companies, have children, and have been married,” she added.
Greene has had a long running feud with Ocasio-Cortez dating back to 2019, before the Georgia lawmaker was elected to the United States Congress.
In 2021, Ocasio-Cortez recalled her past as a bartender when describing a conflict with Greene after she accosted her outside the House chamber.
“I used to work as a bartender. These are the kinds of people that I threw out of bars all the time,” Ocasio-Cortez said at the time.
