Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) slammed the Trump campaign over their reported decision to hire far-right activist Laura Loomer.
“Laura Loomer is mentally unstable and a documented liar,” Greene wrote on Twitter. “she can not be trusted.”
“She spent months lying about me and attacking me just because I supported Kevin McCarthy for Speaker and after I had refused to endorse her last election cycle,” Greene continued. “She loves the alleged FBI informant and weirdo Nick Fuentes. She tried to get hired on the Ye campaign after the infamous Mar-a-Lago dinner, but Kanye West refused to hire her so now she’s running to Trump. Never hire or do business with a liar. Liars are toxic and poisonous to everything they touch.”
The New York Times reported Friday that Donald Trump met Loomer recently and is considering hiring her to work on his campaign.
Greene is not the only Trump ally not on board with Loomer joining the campaign. A staffer currently working on the campaign told Rolling Stone that there’s already resistance among staffers on hiring Loomer. Another Trump adviser says it would be best for “everybody if we can find her something else to do, maybe?”
Loomer, a self-described ‘proud islamophobe’, has a history of making inflammatory comments, such as referring to Islam as “cancer” and saying she is “pro-white nationalism.”
The report of Trump considering hiring Loomer comes months after he dined with another fringe right-wing figure, white nationalist Nick Fuentes at Mar-a-Lago.
Trump claimed at the time that he had no idea who Fuentes and was not familiar with his views.
