Failed North Carolina Republican gubernatorial candidate, Mark Robinson reportedly logged into an online meeting with state officials using the same username that CNN reported that he used on a porn website message board.
According to The Assembly, Robinson joined a virtual meeting of the Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies last week, but his arrival “raised some eyebrows” and even elicited “a few giggles” when they saw the display name “minisoldr.”
‘Minisoldr‘ is allegedly the name Robinson used to make several sexually explicit and racially charged comments on a porn website’s message board, including calling himself a “black NAZI, expressing support for slavery, repeatedly using homophobic slurs and fondly recalled “peeping” on women.
Robinson has denied making the comments on the porn forum.
In their report CNN said they were able to identify Robinson by matching details of the account on the message board to other online accounts held by Robinson by comparing usernames, a known email address and his full name.
Details discussed by the account holder also matched Robinson’s age, length of marriage and other biographical information.
Robinson has since filed a lawsuit against CNN and his attorney called the report a ‘journalistic hit-job.”
Robinson, the current lieutenant governor of North Carolina, lost the gubernatorial race to Democrat Josh Stein last month by double digits.
