Ten people are dead and at least 10 others were injured after a mass shooting at a Lunar New Year celebration in California, according to reports.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the shooting took place around 10:30 p.m. at a ballroom dance club after a Lunar New Year celebration in Monterey Park, California.
Capt. Andrew Meyer of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said Sunday that 10 people were also injured in the attack and their conditions range from stable to critical.
“The suspect fled the scene and remains outstanding,” Meyer added.
The shooter’s motive is still unclear but Meyer said officers will investigate whether the shooting was racially motivated.
