Florida GOP Congressman Matt Gaetz was a special guest at an Ohio GOP event last Thursday where he was presented with a surprise award for his dedication to using Venmo to allegedly pay underage girls for sex.
At the Strongsville GOP Christmas party, a man who identified himself as “Mike with the Strongsville GOP” invited Gaetz on stage and presented him with the Strongsville GOP 2023 award for his “dedication to using Venmo to allegedly pay underage girls to have sex with you.”
“Come on man, you’re so full of it,” Gaetz responded, before ‘Mike with the Strongsville GOP’ was escorted off stage by security.
In 2021, the Department of Justice investigated Gaetz for alleged sex trafficking. They closed the case in February without any charges brought against the Florida lawmaker. However, Gaetz is still being investigated by the House Ethics Committee following reports he showed naked pictures of women to colleagues on the House floor and illicit drug use.
A 2021 Daily Beast report revealed alleged Venmo payments from Gaetz to a 17-year-old girl and his close associate Joel Greenberg.
Greenberg was sentenced to 11 years in prison last year after pleading guilty to underage sex trafficking, wire fraud, stalking, identity theft, producing a fake ID card, and conspiring to defraud the US government.
