Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly says Donald Trump is in cognitive decline, citing the former president’s multiple recent gaffes at campaign rallies.
While Trump claims his gaffes were actually sarcastic statements, Kelly isn’t buying it.
During a recent appearance on Glenn Beck‘s show, Kelly was asked if she thinks “Trump has faded from where he was in 2020?”.
“Yeah, I do….there’s no question Trump has lost a step- or multiple steps,” Kelly said.
“He is confusing Joe Biden for Obama. I know he’s now saying he intentionally did that; go back and look at the clips. It wasn’t intentional,” she continued. “The reference about how somebody is going to get us into World War Two, confusing countries, confusing cities where he is, and it’s happening more and more. With all due respect to Trump: This is what happens when you’re 77-years-old.”
Trump has confused President Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama at least seven times in recent months, according to Forbes.
He defended his gaffes, claiming he was being sarcastic.
“Whenever I sarcastically insert the name Obama for Biden as an indication that others may actually be having a very big influence in running our Country, Ron DeSanctimonious and his failing campaign apparatus, together with the Democrat’s Radical Left ‘Disinformation Machine,’ go wild saying that ‘Trump doesn’t know the name of our President, (CROOKED!) Joe Biden. He must be cognitively impaired,’ Trump wrote on Truth Social site.
“No, I know both names very well, never mix them up, and know that they are destroying our Country. Also, and as reported, I just took a cognitive test as part of my Physical Exam, and ACED it. Also ACED (a perfect score!) one taken while in the White House.”
