Former First Lady Melania Trump went on the record for the first time to defend her past work as a nude model.
“Why do I stand proudly behind my nude modeling work? The more pressing question is: Why has the media chosen to scrutinize my celebration of the human form in a fashion photo shoot?” Trump said in a video posted to X on Wednesday to promote her upcoming memoir.
“Are we no longer able to appreciate the beauty of the human body?” she added.
Trump’s voiceover was featured alongside paintings and sculptures depicting the nude human form of famous works of art, including Michelangelo’s “David,” Paul Cézanne’s “Bathers,” and John Collier’s “Lady Godiva.”
“Throughout history, master artists have revered the human shape, evoking profound emotions and admiration,” she continued. “We should honor our bodies and embrace the timeless tradition of using art as a powerful means of self-expression.”

Melania posed nude for a French adult magazine in 1996, and then again on Donald Trump’s Boeing 727 plane for British GQ in 2000.
The video comes as Trump is promoting her eponymous memoir, Melania, which is set to hit shelves on Oct. 1.
