Trump’s former national security adviser who he pardoned for pleading guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with the Russians, said on Thursday during a Newsmax TV interview that the January 5 runoff elections in Georgia are “fake elections”.
Flynn said he expects more from the Republican Party and its time for them to “stand up and defend this president” as he continues to try and overturn the results of the election.
“They’re all worried about the runoff in Georgia,” Flynn said. “It’s a fake election. You can’t have another election on the same system. Its a broken system and we cannot allow a system that’s tied to foreign powers to be used to vote for our president or any other elected office in our country.”
Incumbent Republican Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are facing off against Democrats Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff respectively to determine which party will controls the Senate. Republicans need to win one seat while Democrats need both. A 50-50 tie would make Vice-President elect Sen. Kamala Harris the tie breaking vote.
