Michael van der Veen says his home was attacked and he's getting death threats.

Michael van der Veen, said his home was attacked and he’s getting death threats after serving as the lead attorney on Donald Trump’s impeachment defense team.

“My home was attacked. I’d rather not go into it because it would encourage other people to do it more, but you know, I’ve had nearly 100 death threats,” van der Veen said, according to The Hill.

“My home was attacked last night — windows broken, spray paint, really bad words spray painted everywhere. And the thing is, you guys don’t know me, but you know I’m not a controversial guy. I’m not politically minded so to speak,” he said.

“I’m a trial lawyer and I represent people’s interests in court. That’s what I do. I love doing it. And I’m disappointed that that is the result of just me doing my job ” he added.

The West Whiteland Township Police Department said graffiti was found at van der Veen’s home on Friday. Vandals spray-painted “TRAITOR” on the driveway of his home, and a group of demonstrators gathered outside of his law office and called him a “fascist,” the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The vandalism occurred around 8 p.m. on Friday, according to police. It was reported by his wife who came home and saw it in the driveway leading to their home.

No arrests have been made and the graffiti was the only vandalism officers found on van der Veen’s property. He has since hired private security to protect his residence and more police officers are now patrolling the neighborhood.

  1. He is a traitor. You have to think about how your job impacts the public. I used to typeset hotel room fire cards for a printer. If they aren’t accurate, people can die. He advocated letting a murdering tyrant off on a technicality. He chose to represent a terrorist who attacked america. Seriously what did he expect?
