A middle school history teacher in California has been removed after she was recorded espousing various conservative political conspiracies to her eighth-grade class, Newsweek reports.
In the seven minute recording taken on Oct. 18 the Anacapa Middle School teacher told her students that Donald Trump is still president, vaccines are dangerous and Hunter Biden possessed child pornography on his laptop and engaged in sexual acts with his niece.
“Hunter Biden, for example, is doing deals with China and Ukraine where he was funneling money illegally. He also had child pornography on his laptop. He was having sexual intercourse with his own niece,” the teacher reportedly said on the recording, according to CBS New York.
She also allegedly told her students: “If you have a baby in the hospital, they don’t want to give it back if you’re not vaccinated. This is a complete power control threat.”
Sarah Silikula’s son, who recorded the video told her after the class that he was never getting vaccinated and that Trump is still president.
“I mean, why? Why does that need to be said in this classroom full of children,” Silikula said. “I trusted her to teach him the facts about history and she went off on this rant like a preacher on a pulpit.”
Silikula said the incident damaged her and her husband’s relationship with their son. “When he first got in the car and said, ‘Dad, teachers know everything. She’s right, dad. You’re wrong.’ He’s damaged. He’s hurt. He’s scared. He doesn’t trust his parents now. He thinks we lied to him.”
Ventura Unified School District officials said the female history teacher was no longer working at the school, but decline to say whether or not the unnamed teacher was still employed by the district.
Marieanne Quiroz, spokesperson for the school district said they “do not condone the non-instructionally related discussion” that took place in class and said officials are working “very closely” to make sure it doesn’t happen again, the Ventura County Star reported. Quiroz said the teacher “expressed deep remorse for what occurred.”
