Mike Pence declines CPAC invitation.

Former Vice-President Mike Pence has declined to attend this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida, next Sunday.

Pence was invited to speak at the event but he turned down the invite, sources told Politico. Organizers are still hoping to change his mind about attending.

This comes amid reports of tension between Mike Pence and Donald Trump surrounding the January 6 riot at the US Capitol and Pence’s role certifying the results of the election for President Joe Biden, CNN reports.

Trump will make his first public appearance since leaving office at CPAC on Sunday.

He’s expected to speak about a number issues including his second impeachment trial, his view on the future of the Republican Party and the conservative movement,” a source told Axios. Trump will also take aim at President Joe Biden, criticizing what he believes to be his administration’s “disastrous” amnesty and border policies.
