Minnesota police warn public to avoid ‘No Kings’ protests after shooting of Democrats.

Police in Minnesota are warning the public’s to stay away from ‘No Kings’ protests in the state following the early morning shootings of two Democratic lawmakers at their homes on Saturday.

“Given the targeted shootings of state lawmakers overnight, we are asking the public to not attend today’s planned demonstrations across Minnesota out of an abundance of caution,” police said in a statement.

A manhunt is underway for the suspect involved in the fatal shooting of Democratic House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark. The gunman also shot and injured state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette.

On Saturday, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) said the shooting appears to be “politically motivated” attacks.

Police issued a shelter-in-place order on Saturday morning a 3-mile radius of the Edinburgh Golf Course. The suspect, according to authorities, dressed as a police officer to gain access to the homes to the lawmakers’ homes.

The suspect is a white man with brown hair wearing black body armor over a blue shirt and blue pants. Police say he is armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Millions of people across the country will rally on Saturday against Donald Trump’s military parade in Washington DC which he claims is to celebrate the Army’s 250th anniversary, the date also coincides with Trump’s birthday.
