More tribes ban Kristi Noem from their reservations.

Two more Native American tribes in South Dakota banished Gov. Kritsti Noem (R) from their reservations after she claimed tribal leaders are benefiting from drug cartels.

On Friday the Yankton Sioux Tribe voted to ban Noem from their land in southeastern South Dakota just a few days after the Sisseton-Wahpeton Ovate tribe did the same thing.

At a forum in March, Noem accused tribal leaders of catering to cartels while neglecting children and the poor, according to the Associated Press.

“We’ve got some tribal leaders that I believe are personally benefiting from the cartels being there, and that’s why they attack me every day,” Noem said. “But I’m going to fight for the people who actually live in those situations, who call me and text me every day and say, ’Please, dear governor, please come help us in Pine Ridge. We are scared.’”

The Oglala, Rosebud, Cheyenne River and Standing Rock Sioux tribes have already banned Noem from their reservations.

In total, six tribes have banned Noem from their reservations which means the governor is barred from entering nearly 20% of her state.

This latest development comes as Noem is facing backlash after confessing to murdering her 14-month-old dog Cricket for misbehaving.
