MTG names the one good thing to come from the shutdown.

Marjorie Taylor Greene doubles down on bizarre claim that eclipse and earthquake are signs to "repent"

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said the one good thing to come from the government shutdown is the end of “taxpayer-funded weather modification.”

“One good thing to come from this government shutdown… CLEAR SKIES!” Greene wrote on X on Friday. “No taxpayer-funded weather modification experiments Americans never asked for. My Clear Skies Act will BAN geoengineering and weather modification. No more spraying chemicals in our skies. It’s time to end this dangerous and unregulated practice!!”

Greene has repeatedly said the government, mainly Democrats, can control the weather.

Last year, the Georgia congresswoman claimed that the federal government created Hurricane Milton by manipulating the weather and sending it to Florida.

“Yes they can control the weather,” Greene wrote in a post on X at the time. “It’s ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can’t be done.”

In July, Greene said she will introduce a bill banning “weather modification” after a fatal flooding in Texas.

“I am introducing a bill that prohibits the injection, release, or dispersion of chemicals or substances into the atmosphere for the express purpose of altering weather, temperature, climate, or sunlight intensity. It will be a felony offense,” she wrote in a post on X.

“I have been researching weather modification and working with the legislative counsel for months writing this bill,” she added.

Government agencies have repeatedly denied conducting weather modification experiments.

“NOAA does not modify the weather, nor does it fund, participate in or oversee cloud seeding or any other weather modification activities,” the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency wrote on its website.

Further debunking Greene’s conspiracy theory is the fact that airplanes, believed by conspiracy theorists to spread ‘chemtrails,’ remain operational during the government shutdown.
