Republican senators Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Mitt Romney (Utah) announced on Monday that they will support Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to the Supreme Court.
“After multiple in-depth conversations with Judge Jackson and deliberative review of her record and recent hearings, I will support her historic nomination to be an Associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court,” Murkowski said in a statement.
Romney said Jackson is “a well-qualified jurist and person of honor” who “more than meets the standard of excellence and integrity” for a Supreme Court justice.
Murkowski and Romney will join Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) as the three Republicans to support Judge Jackson’s nomination to the high court.
Murkowski and Collins previously voted to confirm Judge Jackson to the DC Circuit court last July.
