House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said on Jan.6 that if then-President Donald Trump came up to the Capitol after his rally at the ellipse she would “punch” him out and “go to jail.”

The footage that aired on CNN Thursday evening was obtained from documentary filmmaker and Pelosi’s daughter, Alexandra Pelosi.

Speaker Pelosi made the remark after a staffer informed her that the Secret Service had talked Trump out of going to the Capitol. Trump had announced on stage that he would be marching with his supporters to Congress to give Republicans “courage” to overturn the results of the election.

“I hope he comes. I want to punch him out,” Pelosi said. “I’ve been waiting for this. For trespassing on the Capitol grounds. I’m going to punch him out and I’m going to go to jail and I’m going to be happy.”

The footage came hours after the final Jan. 6 committee public hearing where the panel voted unanimously to subpoena Donald Trump.

Also at Thursday’s hearing the committee played previously unseen footage of Pelosi and other congressional leaders asking governors, and members of the Trump administration to send reinforcement to the Capitol as officers were overpowered by the pro-Trump mob.
