A new poll finds that Donald Trump’s Hitleresque ‘Poisoning the Blood’ rhetoric is resonating with not only Republican voters, but nearly half of all voters.
At a campaign rally last month, Trump said immigrants are “poisoning the blood of our country…. they poison mental institutions and prisons all over the world, not just in South America, not just to three or four countries that we think about, but all over the world. They’re coming into our country from Africa, from Asia, all over the world.”
Trump was condemned for his remarks and compared to Adolf Hitler, who used similar anti-immigration rhetoric.
Despite the condemnation, a CBS News/YouGov poll released on Sunday shows that 81 percent of Republicans agree with Trump’s language, including 97% of MAGA voters and 65% of non-MAGA Republicans.
Most voters, 53 percent, disagreed with Trump’s comments, but a shockingly high number, 47 percent, agree with the leading GOP candidate for president parroting Hitler.
This CBS News/YouGov survey was conducted among 2,870 U.S. adult residents, including 786 likely Republican primary voters between January 10-12, 2024. It has a margin of error of ±2.5 points for the sample overall and ±4.7 points for likely Republican primary voters.
