Nearly half of Republicans say the jury reach a wrong verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial.

About half of Republicans in a new CBS/YouGov poll released on Sunday said that the verdict reached by the jury in the trial of Minneapolis ex-cop Derek Chauvin, was the wrong one.

The jury found Chauvin guilty of second degree murder, third degree murder and second degree manslaughter.



46 percent of Republicans in the poll said that verdict was the wrong one while 10 person of Democrats say the same.

Overall, three-quarters of respondents (75%) said they agreed with the verdict, with just 25% disagree.

The CBS News survey was conducted by YouGov among 2,527 residents in the U.S. interviewed between April 21-24. Its results a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
