Nicholas Sandmann, the former Covington Catholic student who was at the center of a viral video in a standoff with a Native American activist has fired his attorney, L. Lin Wood.
“I have ended my lawyer-client relationship with Mr. Wood and no longer wish to be represented by him,” Sandmann said in an affidavit included in court filings, Reuters reports. He’s is still being represented by lawyer Todd McMurtry.
Wood was one of the lawyers leading Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the results of the election especially in Georgia. He has accused Mike Pence and Chief Justice Roberts of treason and corruption.
In a statement, Wood said he expected that Sandmann would “abandon” him after his social posts which he calls “rhetorical hyperbole.”
