Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley it’s swiped at President Joe Biden’s age on Wednesday, predicting that a vote for him in the next election is a vote for Vice-President Kamala Harris because Biden won’t live until the end of a second term.
“I think we can all be very clear and say with a matter of fact that if you vote for Joe Biden, you really are counting on a President Harris,” Haley said in an interview on the Fox News. “Because the idea that he would make it until 86 years old is not something that I think is likely.”
Biden, 80, is the oldest sitting president in US history. If reelected to a second term, he will be 86 when he leaves the White House.
Haley, currently polling in the single digits in the GOP primary, has called for mandatory “mental competency tests” for politicians older than 75 in an attack on Biden’s and her GOP primary rival, Donald Trump, 76, ages.
Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s physician released a memo in February saying Biden’s health condition is stable.
“President Biden remains a healthy, vigorous, 80-year-old male, who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, to include those as Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief,” O’Connor wrote.
