Nikki Haley, former UN ambassador and 2024 Republican presidential candidate, thinks Hamas is trying to get into the US good graces by releasing two American hostages Friday.
“First I’ll say, two prayers have been answered and we’ve got 200 more to go. The second thing I’ll say to the Biden administration is don’t fall for it,” Haley said during an appearance on Fox News. “This is what they do. They’re trying to earn favor with the United States.”
Haley claimed Hamas is trying to “weaken” the US because they’re worried about an attack from Israel.
“What they’re doing is they’re going to throw two hostages out there for one, to see if they can weaken us to keep Israel from going into Gaza and two, because they want to see if they can get something out of it,” Haley said.
Biden announced Friday that his administration has secured the release of the two American hostages, Judith Raanan and her 17-year-old daughter Natalie. They were in Israel to celebrate the Jewish holidays with family when they were taken by Hamas during the October 7 attack.
