Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem joined heavily armed ICE agents on an early morning raid looking for a violent criminal at the home of a pregnant American citizen, according to NewsNation.
Around 6 a.m Thursday, Sabrina Medina said she looked through her window and saw about a half-dozen vehicles carrying heavily armed and masked ICE agents pulled up outside her home in Huntington Park, California.
Medina, a U.S. citizen who is pregnant with her fourth child, said she was “terrified.”
“I was shaking. I was scared. I’ve never gone through anything like this,” she said. “I was like, ‘Am I dreaming or is this real?’”
Medina and her children were ordered to exit the house as the heavily armed agents searched her home while Noem, wearing a bulletproof vest and ballcap, watched from the street.
“I have never heard that Kristi Noem is going to be at somebody’s house, a whole team, a lot of people like raiding my house like it was a show,” Medina said.
While standing in the driveway, Medina said agents showed her a warrant for her husband that listed his name as David Garcia. She explained that her husband’s name is Jorge and he wasn’t home. Surveillance video from outside the home showed an ICE agent turning the camera away from the scene.
Medina said her husband is undocumented and had left their home the night before following an argument over federal agent sightings.
Noem and her team made no arrest at the home on Thursday, but Medina is worried that her husband could get deported at any time which would make life difficult for her family.
If he’s deported, she said the family will likely go with him back to Mexico.
“I’m not going to be able to pay my rent when I have to pay it,” Medina said. “My husband is not here. I don’t know if they’re going to pick him up tomorrow, the day after tomorrow. It’s sad.”
