NYC man details how he spotted subway shooting suspect and called police.

NYC cheers security camera worker Zack Tahhan who spotted subway shooting suspect.

21-year-old Zack Tahhan is being celebrated as a hero in New York City on Wednesday after he spotted the subway shooting suspect and tipped off the police.

Tahhan, a local security camera installer, told a crowd on Wednesday that he first spotted shooting suspect Frank James in Manhattan’s East Village and notified the NYPD.

“I was working inside the store and I was doing security cameras inside and I see the guy, he was walking from the street, and I see him [on] the cameras,” he said. “I thought oh shit, that guy, let me call the police!”

“I see the police walking from over there. I told the police, ‘This is the guy … Catch him, catch him.’ Thank God, we catch him.’ Thank you very much,” Tahhan said

Tahhan, who moved to the U.S. from Syria five years ago and speaks five languages, said he has difficulty sleeping as a result of the incident on Tuesday.

James was arrested by patrol officers in New York’s East Village neighborhood one day after he fired a handgun 33 times on a crowded subway train making its way toward the 36th Street station in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood.

At least 29 people were injured, including 10 who were shot, though none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening, officials said.
