NYC mayor issues warning to Marjorie Taylor Greene: “Be on your best behavior”

NYC Mayor Eric Adams says lack of prayers lead to guns in schools and dismisses separation of church and state.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams issued a warning to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and other MAGA supporters who will be in his city Tuesday to protest Donald Trump’s indictment.

“While there may be some rabble-rousers thinking about coming to our city tomorrow, a message is clear and simple: Control yourselves. This city is our home, not a playground for your misplaced anger,” Adams said at a City Hall press conference about security preparations around Trump’s court appearance, Politico reports.

Adams then singled out Greene who said she will join the New York Young Republican Club—a group with ties to White Supremacist—to protest “this unprecedented abuse of our justice system and election interference,” during Trump’s arraignment Tuesday.

“People like Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is known to spread misinformation and hate speech, while you’re in town, be on your best behavior,” Adams said.

Greene responded in a tweet on Monday calling Adams “delusional.”

“[Adams] is trying to intimidate, threaten, and stop me from using my 1st amendment rights to peacefully protest the Democrat’s unconstitutional weaponization of our justice system against our top Republican Presidential candidate, President Trump,” she wrote.

“Mayor Adams should be more concerned about NY citizens and taxpayers being murdered, raped, robbed, and carjacked than an elected Member of Congress coming to town. Or should I be the one concerned that the mayor of NYC will weaponize his government or maybe his thugs like DA Alvin Bragg against me?” Greene added.

Trump was indicted last Thursday by a grand jury in Manhattan in the case involving a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign.

The former president has reportedly been charged with more than two dozen counts, including felonies. He will be arraigned in the Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday.
