A third-party long shot candidate running for U.S. Congress in New York released his own porn video to highlight his sex positive campaign.
Mike Itkis, 53, who is challenging Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) for his seat in the 12th Congressional District, released the 13 minute video titled “Bucket List Bonanza” to a popular porn site on Friday with adult film star Nicole Sage.
Itkis, an Army cyber operations officer, told City and State that he published the tape as a “conversation piece.”
“If I would just talk about it, it wouldn’t demonstrate my commitment to the issue. And the fact I actually did it was a huge learning experience, and it actually influenced items on my platform,” he said.
Itkis is running a sex positive campaign. His issues include legalizing sex work, and making sexual rights explicit–“do NOT rely on privacy or free speech rights.” His campaign website also calls to “end adultery laws”. Itkis also believes that “men should not be required to support biological children without prior agreement,” according to his campaign website.
His campaign bio describes him as “not married. No kids. Not celibate. Atheist.”
Itkis told City and State that he’s “very much an introvert” adding, “I’m kind of a nerd who doesn’t like to be the center of attention if I can avoid it. But I thought the issues I’m trying to address are so important… I wanted to have my issues talked about in some way.”
He is getting support from Nadler’s Republican opponent, Mike Zumbluskas, who said “you gotta do what you gotta do. The media ignores everybody that’s not a Democrat in the city.”
