Donald Trump went on a bizarre rant about the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team on Thursday after they won the bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic games. Trump claimed the team would’ve won gold if they were not ‘woke.’
The team captured the bronze medal after defeating Australia 4-3.
“If our soccer team, headed by a radical group of Leftist Maniacs, wasn’t woke, they would have won the Gold Medal instead of the Bronze,” Trump said in a statement. “Woke means you lose, everything that is woke goes bad, and our soccer team certainly has,” he said.
Trump also took aim at Megan Rapinoe who scored two goals in the match on Thursday.
“They should replace the wokesters with Patriots and start winning again. The woman with the purple hair played terribly and spends too much time thinking about Radical Left politics and not doing her job!” he added.
The one term president who lost in a landslide to President Joe Biden is no stranger to blaming ‘wokeness’ for his perceived enemies’ losses.
He made similar comments at a campaign rally in Arizona last month where he celebrated the US team’s loss to 3-0 loss to Sweden in the opening game of the Olympics.
“Woke politics takes the life and joy out of everything. Woke-ism makes you lose, ruins your mind and ruins you as a person. You become warped. You become demented,” he said.
