Pam Bondi’s brother suffers brutal 81-point defeat in race to lead DC bar.

Attorney General Pam Bondi’s brother, Bradley Bondi, lost his election to lead the Washington D.C. bar by a whopping 81 points.

Diane Seltzer, an employment attorney, received more than 90 percent of the 38,472 votes cast to Bondi’s 9 percent.

Seltzer, who made the rule of law central to her campaign said in May that her “priority is making sure that the rule of law is upheld, that we feel that we are safe to do our jobs and that we can go forward every day representing the clients we choose.”

Meanwhile, Bondi, whose clients include Elon Musk and the Trump Media & Technology Group, claims he wants to keep the bar group non-partisan and focus on free training programs for lawyers and more pro bono work, according to NPR.

The election comes as the Trump administration ramp up attacks on judges who issue rulings he doesn’t like, fire DOJ prosecutors who worked on cases against him and target law firms that have represented causes or clients Trump does not agree with.

After the election, Seltzer told NBC News, “We’ve got to make sure that we hang on to the rule of law and that we can practice law safely.”

“That we can represent who we want without worrying about retaliation, and that judges can issue fair and impartial rulings without worrying about being intimidated or retaliated against,” she continued.

Bar associations regulate the legal profession. They take disciplinary  actions against lawyers when misconduct allegations are involved. Because it is in D.C., the D.C. Bar is also where several federal attorneys are licensed, NBC noted.

Bondi wasn’t the only MAGA candidate to fall in the election.

Alicia Long, a top aide to former interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ed Martin, was defeated by Amanda Molina in the race for treasurer. Molina received 26,380 votes to Long’s 8,854.
