Pastor says Marjorie Taylor Greene ‘dances with the devil’ after the lawmaker called herself a ‘Christian nationalist’

These 23 Republicans voted to sink MTG's resolution censoring Tlaib.

An Oregon pastor said Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene “dances with the devil” after the Georgia congresswoman identified herself as a “Christian nationalist”.

“Unlike Marjorie Taylor Greene, I’ve studied the Scriptures & devoted myself to serving the Church. Christian nationalism is a racist ideology incompatible with Christianity,” Reverend Chuck Currie tweeted. “Jesus was for all the world, not one nation. Beware false teachers like Greene. She dances with the devil.”

Currie’s comments came after Greene urged the Republican Party to embrace Christian nationalism because it’s actually a “good thing.”

“That’s not a bad word. That’s actually a good thing. There’s nothing wrong with leading with your faith,” Greene said during her speech at Turning Point USA Student Action Summit over the weekend. “If we do not live our lives and vote like we are nationalists—caring about our country, and putting our country first and wanting that to be the focus of our federal government—if we do not lead that way, then we will not be able to fix it.”

She doubled down in an interview with conservative outlet, Next News Network, saying the GOP should become the party of Christian nationalists

“We need to be the party of nationalism and I’m a Christian, and I say it proudly, we should be Christian nationalists,” she said.

“When Republicans learn to represent most of the people that vote for them, then we will be the party that continues to grow without having to chase down certain identities or chase down certain segments of people,” she continued. “We just need to represent Americans and most Americans, no matter how they vote, really care about the same things and I want to see Republicans actually do their job.”
