Televangelist Pat Robertson came out of retirement on Monday to offer his thoughts on the Ukraine-Russia crisis.
Robertson claims God “compelled” Russian President Vladimir Putin to violently attack Ukraine to kick off the End Times.
“I think you can say, well, Putin’s out of his mind, and yes, maybe so,” Robertson said. “But at the same time he’s being compelled by God. He went into Ukraine, but that wasn’t his goal. His goal was to move against Israel, ultimately.”
Robertson claimed Ukraine is just a “staging area” for one of the Biblical armies that will fight in Armageddon.
“It’s going to happen,” he declared. “So I say, that is what’s coming up. Is Putin crazy? Is he mad? Well, perhaps. But God says, I’m going to put hooks in your jaws and I’m going to draw you into this battle, whether you like it or not. And he’s being compelled, after the move into the Ukraine, he’s being compelled to move to get a land bridge, and then across the Dardanelles with Turkey, and watch what’s going to happen next. You read your Bible, because it’s coming to pass.”
This is not the first time Robertson predicted that a political event would lead to the beginning of the end times. Before the 2020 presidential election he claimed God told him Donald Trump would be re-elected and after he is sworn in, all hell would break lose as an asteroid would destroy the Earth thereby fulfilling the End of Times prophesy.
That never happened.
