Former Vice-President Mike Pence was booed at the National Rifle Association’s annual gathering in Indianapolis, Indiana on Friday.
Pence, a former governor of Indiana, was greeted by boos and some cheers, to which the former vice president responded, “I love you too.”
Pence drew the ire of the Republican base when he certified the election for President Joe Biden on Jan. 6, 2021 despite pressure from then-President Donald Trump and his allies not to do so. Trump supporters were captured on video chanting “Hang Mike Pence,” as they stormed the Capitol that day to stop the certification of electoral votes.
