Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf (D) announced on Monday that state employees who get vaccinated by the end of the year will be eligible for five days of paid leave.
“This leave will help incentivize the vaccinations that protect commonwealth employees and the Pennsylvanians we serve,” Wolf’s administration said in an email. “It’s one more way we can show our gratitude to employees who step up to help us protect our communities and bring this pandemic to an end.”
An employee who is already fully vaccinated and provided proof of their status to the administration will automatically receive the additional five days of leave, the Associated Press reports. The leave can be used between Dec. 20 and March 31.
Wolf’s administration is already offering its employees a paid day off to get the shot, AP noted.
According to Wolf, almost 72 percent of Pennsylvanians are fully vaccinated and 92 percent have received at least one dose.
