Pentagon will use lie detector tests to find leakers after Musk’s threat.

The Department of Defense will be using lie detector tests as part of a probe to find staffers who are leaking stories to the media.

In a memo, DOD Chief of Staff Joe Kasper announced the use of polygraphs to investigate “recent unauthorized disclosures of national security information.”

“The use of polygraphs in the execution of this investigation will be in accordance with applicable law and policy,” Kasper said.

“This investigation will commence immediately and culminate in a report to the Secretary of Defense,” he said, adding that the “party responsible for an unauthorized disclosure.. will be referred to the appropriate criminal law enforcement entity for criminal prosecution.”

The announcement comes after Elon Musk threatened Pentagon leakers this week saying he ‘looks forward to their prosecution‘ after the New York Times reported that the Pentagon planned to brief him about the U.S. military’s plan for any war that might break out with China.

Both Trump and Musk claim the report is false.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced earlier this month that her department has begun performing polygraph tests on employees to determine who might be leaking information to the media about immigration operations after lower than expected ICE arrest numbers.
