Police in Philadelphia are now investigating a plot to attack the Pennsylvania Convention Center where ballots are currently being counted.
According to ABC 6 Action News, police were tipped off about a group driving from Virginia to Philadelphia in a hummer to unleash an attack on the convention center.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the group was armed with AR-15 rifles. The outlet also reported that a Hummer matching the description of the car the suspects were driving had stickers linked to the QAnon conspiracy movement, including a large “Q” and “#WWG1WGA,” which the pro-Trump conspiracy theorists use to stand for “Where we go one, we go all”–the group’s motto.
Two men were taken into custody in connection to the alleged plot and the weapons were seized by the police, according to CBS Philadelphia, their identities have not been released by police.
This comes as Joe Biden is chipping away at Donald Trump’s lead in the state of Pennsylvania. And with a large number of mail-in votes still to come in the Philadelphia area that is expected to be disproportionately pro-Biden, the votes in Philly may just tip the entire state to the Democratic presidential nominee.
It’s also a few hours after Donald Trump’s press conference at the White House where he said the election is being stolen from him in places like Philadelphia. A message that was amplified by news outlets like FOX News and supported by prominent Republicans senators like Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham.
