New polling data shows Kamala Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz popularity soaring while Donald Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance’s plummets.
A YouGov poll conducted on August 8, two days after Harris announced Walz as her vice presidential pick, shows the governor with a net favorability rating of +11, up 10 points from last month’s YouGov survey.
Meanwhile, Vance’s net favorability continues to trend in the wrong direction.
A YouGov survey conducted between July 15, when he was selected as Trump’s running mate, and July 19 shows the Ohio senator with a -6 net approval rating. Weeks later in a Marist poll, conducted between August 1 and August 4, Vance’s net favorability rating fell to -9, down 5 points from late July in the same poll.
There has been allegations that Trump is already having buyer’s remorse after selecting Vance as his running mate and could try to boot him from the ticket to better his chances of winning in November. Trump’s team has denied that he is regretting his choice.
