Pope Leo XIV eldest brother, Louis Prevost, visited Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday.
White House aide Margo Martin posted a photo on social media showing Prevost and his wife Deborah smiling next to Trump and Vice President JD Vance in the Oval Office.
Earlier on Tuesday during a visit to the Capitol, Trump told reporters he is looking forward to meeting Prevost who has been very vocal online about his support for Trump.
Prevost has reposted several comments and memes critical of Democrats while praising Trump and Vance.
Last month, he reposted a video calling former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi a “drunk cu*t”. He has also said Democrats who met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should be arrested for treason and suggested that Democrats should be “shot and strung up.”
Another post he reshared included a photo of a mental institution with the caption, “Where the woke lived before the ‘70s.”
On the other hand, Prevost compared Trump to Jesus Christ, writing, “Maybe you should go to one of his rallies, talk to other real people. Maybe even meet him if you‘re lucky. I did. Incredible man. Not comparing him to or saying he is like Christ, but both seem to be suffering the same treatment at the hands of the evil ones.”
Prevost has since deleted several of those comments and vowed to tone down his rhetoric since his brother was elected pope.
