Prosecutors in NC weighing possible criminal charges against Mark Meadows for voter fraud.

Prosecutors in North Carolina are considering charging former GOP congressman turn Donald Trump chief of staff, Mark Meadows with voter fraud.

Meadows voted in the 2020 general elections using the address of a rented mobile home in North Carolina. According to the owner, Meadows never stayed at the property. The move likely broke state laws which says voter registration applications must be accurate and that residency refers to “where you physically live,” WRAL reported.

If Meadows is charged and found guilty, he could face months in prison.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation was investigating the matter. On Tuesday the agency said their case file concerning Meadows and allegations of voter fraud was submitted to the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office for review in early November.

“Prosecutors with the AG’s Office will determine whether criminal charges are appropriate, not the SBI,” the SBI said in a statement. “Because the case is now pending a decision by the AG’s Office, no additional information is available.”

Meadows was removed from North Carolina voter rolls in April after officials discovered he voted in Virginia in 2021. He was also registered to vote in South Carolina at the same time.
