A member of the far-right group ‘The Proud Boys’ lashed out at Donald Trump when he realized that the man they’ve been following “and given everything and lost it all” for was not going to pardon him before he leaves office.
Federal prosecutors revealed messages sent by self described sergeant-at-arms for the Proud Boys, Ethan Nordean on Trump’s last day in office when he realized that all hope of ever receiving a presidential pardon for storming the Capitol weeks earlier, was gone.
“Alright I’m gunna say it. FUCK TRUMP!,” Nordean wrote in a Telegram message on January 20. “Fuck him more than Biden. I’ve followed this guy for 4 years and given everything and lost it all.”
Nordean wrote the message after Joseph Biggs, the Proud Boys Florida organizer was arrested for his role in the deadly January 6 Capitol riot.
“Yes he woke us up, but he led us to believe some great justice was upon us….and it never happened,” Nordean said of Trump. “Now I’ve got some of my good friends and myself facing jail time cuz we followed this guy’s lead and never questioned it.”
“So glad he was able to pardon a bunch of degenerates as his last move and shit on us on the way out. Fuck you trump you left us on [t]he battle field bloody and alone.”
Nordean, was arrested a week after posting the message. He has been charged with conspiracy; obstruction of an official proceeding and aiding and abetting; destruction of government property; entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds and disorderly conduct in a restricted building or grounds. He has pleaded not guilty.
Both Nordean and Biggs’ bail were revoked in April after federal prosecutors successfully argued the two men were central figures in planning the attack, according to Huffpost.
