Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock was re-elected in Georgia on Tuesday defeated Trump-backed candidate Herschel Walker.
Warnock’s victory in the runoff election means he will serve a full six year term in the Senate and expand Democrats’ majority in the upper chamber to 51-49. Democrats gained a seat with John Fetterman’s victory in Pennsylvania.
The Georgia Senate race went to a runoff last month after neither Warnock nor Walker received more than 50 percent of the vote on Election Day.
There will be divided government, however, as Republicans narrowly won control of the House.
