Ratings for Kamala Harris’ acceptance speech demolishes Trump’s.

More people tuned to watch Vice-President Kamala Harris accept the Democratic Party nomination for president compared to Donald Trump acceptance speech last month at the Republican National Convention.

According to analyst Michael Mulvihill, overnight figures show that the early ratings for Harris’ speech indicate 15 million people tuned in from the 10:30 to 11:15 p.m. time range for the seven networks measured.

In comparison, Trump’s RNC acceptance speech drew an audience of 12.3 million from the 10:30 p.m. to midnight timeslot.

That’s a 22% increase over the same set of ratings for Harris over Trump.

Ironically, the reported top market for Harris’ speech on day four was West Palm Beach, Florida, which includes Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence

Mulvihill is referencing early Nielsen numbers, as final numbers will be released later in the day to get a fuller picture.

More than 25 million people tuned in live to the final night of the RNC across 14 cable and broadcast networks, according to Nielsen.

The DNC continued to dominate the RNC in overall ratings for the fourth straight day. The DNC average 14.3 million viewers across seven networks on the final day compares not 12.2 million for the RNC.
