Illinois Congressman Rep. Adam Kinzinger said on Sunday that Donald Trump’s resignation would be what’s best for the country to heal.
“I think the best thing for the country to heal is for him to resign. The next best thing is the 25th Amendment, that is why I called on Vice-President Pence to do it,” Kinzinger said.

Kinzinger, the only Republican in the House to call for Trump’s removal from office by invoking the 25th Amendment argues that it removes Congress from the debate and “doesn’t victimize Donald Trump. It makes him looks as bad as he has been.”
The Illinois congressman said he would support impeaching Donald Trump but argues that it’s probably not the “smartest” moves given that he only has 10 days left in office.
“I think it would be the right move, if we had more than basically 10 days left of the administration. I think there’s a lot of ideas with censure, with preventing him from being able to run again. You know the reality is we just don’t have a lot of time in this administration left, which right now is a good thing,” Kinzinger said.

Donald Trump has been telling aides at the White House that he would not resign even though some members of his party have been calling for him to do so.
