Donald Trump is already discussing new ways to milk American taxpayers long after he leaves the White House.

Trump wants to turn his West Palm Beach, Fla., golf club into a Camp David-style retreat to be used by future presidents, as well as visiting foreign heads of state, the Palm Beach Post reports, citing a letter sent to Palm Beach County commissioners by the golf course’s attorney, Harvey Oyer.

“This is a gift that the President would like to share with his successors, the people of America, and his fellow Palm Beach County residents. It should be noted that President Trump will be out of office before this proposed project could be completed, so this is a gift to his successors,” the letter said.

Oyer also compared the proposed retreat to Camp David, Windsor Castle and the Élysée Palace in his letter. He requested that the county give a portion of land to the federal government and claimed Trump would foot the bill to build any lodging/facilities,

A White House official told the Washington Post that the golf course would provide “world-class property” amenities.

The United States government has asked to look into developing a Presidential retreat at Trump International Golf Course in Palm Beach for future presidents, so they can hold important meetings and utilize the amenities of a world-class property,” the official said.

The official also boasted about the security of the club where Ryan Routh was convicted of trying to assassinate then-presidential candidate Trump in September 2024.

“The property is minutes away from the Donald J. Trump International Airport, does not have buildings looming, does not have houses along the course, has great security features, is close to law enforcement, and happens to be a highly-rated golf course. These are features that are necessary for any presidential retreat,” the official said.
